Dragon's treasure - for some that would conjure up visions of gold and jewels - for me it's a place where I store things that are special for me; a few nic-nacs from the family, some crystals, cards and workings. This is not meant to be a definitive guide to the use of things but merely a means of sharing.

Cards

Much has been written about tarot and it's uses for divination/guidance but my first dealings with the cards (over thirty years ago now!) was with an old set of ordinary playing cards and some pages out of an old 'How to be a Good Housewife' (dated 1928) book! Many ordinary people had a way with the cards but being wary of using Tarot, used this method as a 'Parlour Trick' or 'Character Reading' to good effect!
Even though I now have some tarot sets of my own I still prefer using that first deck of dog-eared cards.
Who the original author was I do not know, but I feel it would be a shame for this information to just disappear without being shared. One thing I would like to point out no matter what set or sort you use - Death does not always nor necessarily mean that, it also stands for new beginnings, the casting off of old habits or matters and change.
A more detailed description of the cards and their meanings as was written can be found here.

Runes
(original idea and thanks to simplespell)

Ancient alphabet or method of divination - maybe both, it's hard to give a precise usage or date of birth to the runes since their origins have been lost in the sands of time and although examples of carved runes have been found there are many different interpretations of how they were used. The origin of the runes is also controversial, however it can be said with some certainty that they were in use well before the coming of Christianity in Europe.
Nowadays runes are used mostly as a divination system, the most popular one being the Elder Futhark - a Germanic version of the runic alphabet- so called because the sequence of the first six runes - when placed in a row - spells the name: F-U-Th-A-R-K.
The modern runes tend to consist of 24 runes (25 if a blank is used) each of which has it's own particular meaning, one interpretation places emphasis on the way our ancestors used to look at life - they believed in Destiny, the Wyrd, and in this sense one important lesson we can learn is that there is always a link between us and the world around us.....the law of 'cause and effect'.

Crystals

Crystals have fascinated us since the earliest times and still do! Over the ages they have been used for magic, healing, for protection, as jewellery and are even used today for electronics and science, many have associations with planets, herbs, lore and astrology. Here I hope to list the basic attributes and where they are found, etc of some of the crystals.
That said, there are many who are becoming increasingly alarmed at how some crystals are mined and although I have several that have been bought from shops I also have a wide selection that have been found while out walking along the beach, across the Moors etc. So next time your out and about - have a look around - you might be surprised what you find - and to polish them all you need is a bit of elbow grease, patience and fine wire-wool!
The crystal list can be found here
